This is a free,
open, non-judgmental space for individuals to express their opinions and
thoughts on current events and issues on medical marijuana.
Agenda: New Jersey Issues:
With Mikie Sherrill as NJ’s Governor-elect, there’s now a decidedly clearer path to advancing a medical
and adult use home grow option.
Sherrill also advocated to include active duty military service
members in psychedelic studies. NORML gave Sherrill an “A” grade in its voter guide. The
Governor-elect invites direct public participation through a
statewide Transition Survey. New
Jersey residents are encouraged to share their ideas and priorities for
the next administration.
CMMNJ Position on NJ Bill S4847: Makes various changes to CRC and to the cannabis marketplace; Testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee. The bill passed out of committee with minor amendments. Referred to Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee.
Testimony in support of S2392/A913: Authorizes medical cannabis for treatment of sickle cell anemia. The bill passed out of the Senate Health Committee and was referred to the Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee.
The "Psilocybin Behavioral Health
Access and Services Act," A3852/S2283, passed out
of committee on 11/24/25. It establishes Psilocybin Behavioral Health Access and Therapy Pilot
Program and appropriates $6 million. It will charge the Department of Health with
licensing and regulating the manufacture, testing, transport, delivery, sale
and purchase of psilocybin. There would be five license types: manufacturer,
service center operator, testing laboratory, facilitator and psilocybin worker.
Referred to Assembly Appropriations Committee.
The PhilaDelic Conference, 11/22/25, was an initiative of the Penn Psychedelics Collaborative at the University of Pennsylvania. Full agenda. CMMNJ speakers in conference recording.
Even though NJ legalized marijuana, it is still federally illegal to mail: Flower, Edibles, Vapes, Oils, Medical marijuana. One exception: Hemp and CBD products containing less than 0.3% THC are allowed, but they must meet federal rules. When in doubt, don’t mail it.
NJ DUI Lawyer Issues Guidance On
Marijuana DUI Rights And Defenses: prosecutors must prove actual
impairment. That relies on observational proof and opinion testimony rather
than a single objective number, which in turn creates multiple litigation
touchpoints for challenging probable cause, arrest procedures, and
admissibility of evidence.

S4779: transfers cannabis regulations
from the CRC to a new Division of State Cannabis Oversight, Regulation, and
Enforcement (SCORE) in the Dept. of Law and Public Safety, to bring enforcement
actions against unlicensed cannabis businesses.
NJ Senator Scutari’s bill S4154, “Establishes crime of
selling or purchasing marijuana from unlicensed businesses." Sign NORML's
S4154 action alert.
